Zelensky: Ukraine Inflicted Over 35,000 Russian Losses in March

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Friday, April 3, that Russian military losses in March reached the highest monthly level since the onset of the full-scale war. According to Zelensky, Ukrainian forces inflicted more than 35,000 losses during the month, of which 33,988 individuals were killed or seriously injured solely due to drone strikes.

Zelensky noted that an additional 1,363 Russian servicemen were killed or wounded as a result of artillery shelling and other types of weaponry. He characterized these figures as 'confirmed losses,' adding that Ukrainian forces possess video evidence for each strike. The President highlighted several units for their effectiveness in the war, particularly those utilizing drones, including special operations and airborne troops.

Furthermore, Zelensky reported that Ukrainian forces struck 274 Russian air defense systems in March. He emphasized that Ukrainian attacks significantly disrupted Russian logistics and supply lines. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense plans to publish a more detailed report on the combat results for March, including data that may be disclosed publicly.

On Thursday, a drone attack caused a major fire at a crucial oil refinery in Ufa, located more than 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine, underscoring Kyiv's growing influence on Russia's energy infrastructure. Since the end of March, Ukrainian drones have also targeted Russian oil export ports on the Baltic Sea, through which up to 40% of the country's oil exports pass. Drones struck the key Baltic export hub of Russia, Ust-Luga, on the night of March 30-31, marking the fourth attack on the port within just a week.

This information indicates that Ukrainian forces continue to actively operate on Russian territory, striking important military and economic sites. Russia's expenditures on the war are rising, while Ukrainian forces demonstrate their capability for effective attacks, prompting Russian command to reassess its strategies.
