Zelensky Warns: The Longer the War in the Middle East Lasts, the Greater the Threat of Weapon Shortages for Ukraine

Zelensky pointed out that Ukraine has long been aware of the potential limitations in Western support. "Back in 2023, we held a meeting, and I told our military that we must prepare for the possibility that U.S. assistance may stop or become limited and not free of charge," he said. "We need to diversify our supplies and reduce the use of certain scarce types of weapons."

According to the president, this strategic shift has led Ukraine to prioritize the production of drones over artillery shells. "We have bet on drones instead of artillery shells... and it has worked—now everyone on the front line sees the results," Zelensky emphasized.

These comments from the president were part of his visit to London, where he met with members of the British Parliament. This visit came ahead of his planned trip to Spain on March 19 and took place against the backdrop of European allies' promises to continue supporting Kyiv in its conflict with Russia.
