Russian Forces Attack Nikopol, Seven Injured
In Nikopol, a city located in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian troops carried out an artillery strike that resulted in seven individuals sustaining injuries. This was reported by Oleksandr Hanha, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, via his Telegram channel.
In a concerning escalation of violence, Russian military forces launched an artillery attack on the city of Nikopol, situated in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, injuring seven people. Among the injured is a 1.5-year-old girl who was hospitalized in moderate condition. She has been transferred to a medical facility in Dnipro for further treatment. Additionally, two men, aged 66 and 72, sustained minor injuries and are currently receiving outpatient care.
Hanha also pointed out that prior to this artillery attack, the enemy had targeted Nikopol using FPV drones. These drone strikes resulted in damage to a residential apartment building and a pharmacy, as well as the destruction of a vehicle. Such incidents have sparked significant concern among local residents, who fear for their safety.
In his report, Hanha indicated that four women were injured during the drone attack. Two of them were hospitalized: a 62-year-old patient is in critical condition, while a 33-year-old woman has sustained moderate injuries. The other two women, aged 39 and 49, suffered minor injuries and will be treated on an outpatient basis.
This incident occurs against the backdrop of escalating conflict in the region, exacerbated by ongoing shelling from Russian forces. Previously, on April 5, a drone attack in Nikopol resulted in one fatality and left another person with severe injuries. These events underscore the gravity of the situation in the region, where civilians continue to suffer the consequences of war.
Local residents and authorities are calling for enhanced security measures to protect the civilian population, as attacks on peaceful cities become increasingly frequent. In light of this, it is crucial for the international community to pay attention to the situation in Nikopol and other cities that are under threat from aggressor forces.
