Ukrainian government officials, including the Vice Prime Minister for European Integration and ministers of economy and finance, met with members of the 'European Solidarity' faction on Friday, April 3. This meeting marked a significant step towards discussing Ukraine's commitments under the Ukraine Facilities programs, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and European integration.

Representatives of the Ukrainian government, including the Vice Prime Minister for European Integration and the ministers of economy and finance, convened with members of the 'European Solidarity' faction on Friday, April 3. The meeting took place at the office of the 'European Solidarity' party and served as an important step in discussing Ukraine's obligations under the Ukraine Facilities programs, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the broader framework of European integration. Iryna Gerashchenko, co-chair of the 'European Solidarity' faction, who also participated in the meeting, emphasized that dialogue between the government and parliament in a parliamentary-presidential republic should become the norm rather than an exception.

During the meeting, participants highlighted the importance of quality preparation of legislative proposals that must meet European standards and directives. Gerashchenko noted that the 'European Solidarity' faction is ready to support those legislative initiatives that do not contain lobbying corruption norms, as this is critically important for ensuring transparency and efficiency in public administration.

One of the key issues discussed during the meeting was the military tax. Gerashchenko stated that 'European Solidarity' insists on the necessity of directing this tax exclusively towards financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She underscored the importance of incorporating the relevant provision into the transitional provisions of the Tax and Budget Codes. Government officials, in turn, expressed their readiness to support this initiative, indicating a growing collaboration between the faction and the government.

Gerashchenko also pointed out that some legislative proposals require serious refinement. Specifically, this pertains to legislative initiatives concerning environmental standards and the creation of unified registers of bank accounts. She emphasized that 'European Solidarity' is open to constructive cooperation on issues of European integration, as well as the preservation of decentralization in Ukraine, which is a crucial aspect for the development of local self-government.

Overall, the meeting between government representatives and the 'European Solidarity' faction marked an important step towards strengthening cooperation between different branches of power in Ukraine. It also reflects the increasing attention to European integration issues and the necessity for Ukrainian legislation to align with European standards. It is vital that dialogue between the government and parliament continues, as this can positively influence the implementation of reforms and the overall development of the country.
