Ukrainian Drone Forces Strike Russian S-400 Radar in Crimea and Targets in Donbas
On April 4, Ukrainian Armed Forces' drone units successfully targeted two Russian radar stations, a Tor air defense system, and an anti-aircraft installation in occupied Crimea and Donbas, according to military press service reports.
On April 4, the drone forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine achieved a significant victory by successfully striking two Russian radar stations, a Tor air defense system, and an anti-aircraft installation in the occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas. This operation was confirmed by the military press service, highlighting the ongoing conflict and the strategic importance of these targets.
In the Crimean city of Feodosia, operators from the 414th Separate Brigade 'Psycho of Madjar' executed a precise strike on a radar station belonging to the S-400 Triumph system. This target is particularly crucial, as it possesses the capability to track up to 100 objects simultaneously at a distance of 600 kilometers (370 miles) and can control up to 72 missiles. The destruction of such a sophisticated piece of equipment represents a significant blow to Russian air defense capabilities.
The military emphasized the complexity of this target, stating, 'This is a challenging target, as it can be deployed within five minutes and usually changes position before it can be detected,' on their Facebook page. This statement underscores the tactical difficulties faced by Ukrainian forces in neutralizing advanced Russian military technology.
Meanwhile, in Donetsk, the 1st Separate Center for Drone Systems successfully struck a Tor air defense system. Concurrently, in the Luhansk region, Ukrainian drones destroyed an SKPP radar station, specialized equipment used for detecting drones at a distance of 20 kilometers, effectively leaving Russian interceptor teams 'blind' to incoming threats.
Additionally, an anti-aircraft installation ZU-23-2 mounted on an armored transport vehicle MT-LB was also destroyed in Luhansk. All operations were conducted in coordination with the Deep Strike Center, showcasing the level of organization and strategy involved in these military actions.
Earlier on the same day, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and drone forces again targeted the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant, marking the second strike on this facility within the month. This plant is known for supplying critical materials for the production of T-90M tanks, making it a vital asset for Russian military operations.
In addition to these strikes, Ukrainian forces have intensified their campaign deep within Russian territory, including recent drone strikes on chemical plants in Tolyatti and the Bashneft-Nova oil refinery in Ufa. These attacks have significantly disrupted logistics and supply chains for the Russian military, further complicating their operational capabilities.
The ongoing conflict continues to evolve, with Ukrainian forces demonstrating their ability to strike high-value targets both within occupied territories and across the border into Russia. This marks a notable shift in the dynamics of the war, as Ukraine seeks to undermine Russian military infrastructure and logistics while asserting its operational capabilities.
