Ukraine to Showcase National Stand at Bologna Children's Book Fair

The Ukrainian Book Institute has announced Ukraine's participation in the 63rd Bologna Children's Book Fair, a significant event for Ukrainian publishers, set to take place at the BolognaFiere exhibition center.

The Ukrainian Book Institute has officially announced Ukraine's participation in the 63rd Bologna Children's Book Fair, which will traditionally be held at the BolognaFiere exhibition center. This event is crucial for Ukrainian publishers, as the national stand of Ukraine, located in Hall 30, Stand A3, will showcase the works of 17 publishers and one literary agency.

Among the participants at the stand will be notable publishers such as My Book Shelf, Books - XXI (TM 'Black Sheep'), Time of Masters, Educational Book - Bohdan, ASSA, Mamino, Ranok, Folio, RM, Old Lion Publishing House, Krokus, Publishing House, Little Beetle Press, Publishing House Vesna, Muslya, Kalamar, as well as the publishing house of the National Center 'Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine' and the literary agency 'Lit Grunt'. This highlights the active involvement of Ukrainian publishers in international publishing.

An important aspect of the design of the Ukrainian national stand at the Bologna Fair is the use of illustrations by Oleksandr Shatokhin from the 'quiet book' 'Yellow Butterfly'. This emphasizes the cultural heritage and creative potential of Ukrainian artists, who are capable of attracting the attention of the international audience.

Partners in this project include the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy, the Bologna Children's Book Fair, the Federation of European Publishers, the public organization 'Native Language', and the publishing house 'Bohdan'. Collaboration with these organizations underscores the importance of supporting cultural initiatives at the international level.

The Bologna Children's Book Fair is a leading event in the publishing industry, bringing together a unique and diverse global audience. This fair has become a global center for premium copyright exchange in the publishing sector, which also encompasses modern multimedia and licensing businesses for children's narratives, illustrations, animation, and related fields.

The Ukrainian Book Institute reminded that in 2025, around 1,500 exhibitors from 90 countries gathered at this event, confirming the international status of the fair and its significance for the development of the publishing industry.

It is also noteworthy that the books 'Quack!' by Yulia Gvilim and 'What is it? Ukrainian Literature' by Anastasia Yevdokimova made it to the list of the best publications from the Bologna Exhibition-2026. This further highlights the high quality of Ukrainian literature and its recognition at the international level.
