Farewell to Slain Serviceman Oleg Avdiyiev in Lviv Tomorrow

In Lviv, a farewell ceremony will take place tomorrow, April 3, for Oleg Avdiyiev, a serviceman of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCK), who lost his life due to a violent assault. This information was confirmed by the Lviv City Council, as reported by the Ukrinform news agency.

The funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. Following the conclusion of the ritual, around 11:30 AM, a citywide farewell ceremony will be held in Rynok Square, where all those wishing to pay their respects to the fallen can do so.

Oleg Avdiyiev will be laid to rest at Lychakiv Cemetery, in the field of honorable burials No. 87, located on Pasichna Street. This event has sparked significant public resonance, as the serviceman gave his life in the line of duty.

Avdiyiev is survived by his wife, mother, brother, and cousin, who are enduring a difficult time following the loss of their loved one. It was previously reported that on April 2, in Lviv, the TCK serviceman was fatally stabbed in the neck. The suspected attacker has been apprehended.

The State Customs Service confirmed that the individual detained on suspicion of murdering the TCK serviceman is an employee of the Lviv Customs. The detainee has already been informed of the suspicion of intentional murder in connection with the performance of his official duties, according to paragraph 8 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, a 34-year-old customs officer stabbed the serviceman at the moment when his 28-year-old brother was fleeing from a notification group, and the TCK serviceman attempted to stop him. Unfortunately, the serviceman died en route to the hospital, failing to receive medical assistance in time.

The court has chosen a preventive measure for the detainee, placing him in custody for 60 days without the right to bail, which underscores the seriousness of the crime and its consequences. This tragedy has incited outrage among the public, which demands a fair investigation and punishment for those responsible.

In light of these events, residents of Lviv are invited to join the farewell ceremony and honor the memory of the fallen hero. The community has the opportunity to express its support for the family of the deceased and pay tribute to his bravery and dedication.
