Construction of High-Rise Buildings with 360 Apartments Begins in Hostomel to Replace Destroyed Homes
In Hostomel, located in the Kyiv region, the construction of new high-rise residential buildings comprising 360 apartments has commenced, aimed at replacing those destroyed due to military actions.
In Hostomel, a town in the Kyiv region of Ukraine, the construction of new high-rise residential buildings has officially begun. These buildings will comprise a total of 360 apartments, intended to replace homes that were destroyed as a result of military actions during the ongoing conflict. This significant development was announced by Oleksandr Kalashnyk, the head of the regional military administration, via his Telegram channel, as reported by Ukrinform.
On October 14, a field meeting was held, attended by residents of the military town, representatives of government authorities, and the general contractor. Kalashnyk emphasized that preparatory work has already started at the construction site, which includes the excavation of foundations for the future apartment buildings. This marks an active commencement of the project, which aims to restore the housing stock in the region.
Kalashnyk highlighted that the new seven-story buildings will be constructed to replace 272 destroyed apartments. The project is planned to be implemented in six phases, allowing for a gradual provision of housing to those who have lost their homes. In addition to residential units, the project also includes plans for the construction of an underground anti-radiation shelter, which is a crucial safety feature for the residents.
During the meeting with local representatives, Kalashnyk noted that discussions were held regarding the design of the new buildings, the layout of the apartments, and the improvement of the surrounding area. He assured that the suggestions from the local community would be taken into account, demonstrating the government's openness to dialogue with the residents.
An important topic of discussion at the meeting was the mechanism for distributing the new apartments. Kalashnyk stressed that all necessary clarifications have already been provided to the initiative group, and work in this direction will continue. "Our fundamental position is to maintain a constant dialogue. Such meetings will be regular, involving representatives from the restoration service, local authorities, the community, and the contractor. There will be no closed decisions and no uncertainty," he emphasized.
It is worth noting that approximately 80% of the damaged and destroyed facilities in the Kyiv region have already been restored following the aggression of the Russian Federation. This reflects the active efforts of local authorities and the state as a whole in restoring infrastructure and housing stock in the region.
