Trump Announces Powerful Strikes on Iran and Discusses Ceasefire Possibility

President Donald Trump declared that the United States will continue to launch powerful strikes on Iran in the coming weeks, emphasizing the military actions will be 'extremely harsh.'

President of the United States Donald Trump announced that over the next two to three weeks, the U.S. will continue to carry out powerful strikes against Iran. He made this statement during his evening address from the White House, where he underscored that American military actions would be 'extremely harsh.'

Trump indicated that the goal of these actions is to 'return Iran to the Stone Age,' suggesting Washington's intent to significantly intensify military pressure on Tehran in the near future. The President also made it clear that the upcoming weeks would be critical for the development of the situation in the region.

At the same time, Trump emphasized that discussions are ongoing alongside military actions. He stated that regime change in Iran has never been an official goal of the United States; however, according to him, this change has already effectively occurred as 'all their initial leaders are dead.'

Earlier that same day, Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that Iran had reached out to the U.S. requesting a ceasefire. However, he added that he would only consider this matter once the Strait of Hormuz is reopened. 'Until then, the U.S. is turning Iran into nothing,' Trump emphasized, reiterating his determination in military actions.

This statement came the day after Trump suggested that the U.S. could end the war with Iran within two to three weeks. On April 1, he also reported that the President of Iran had approached the United States with a request for a ceasefire, but Washington would only consider this matter after the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian Foreign Ministry later refuted Trump's claims, indicating the tension in relations between the countries.

On March 31, it became known that a third American aircraft carrier, the USS George HW Bush, along with escort ships, was headed to the Middle East. This raised concerns among experts who believe that the U.S. may be preparing for a ground operation in Iran. The increase in U.S. military presence in the region has caused anxiety not only in Iran but also in neighboring countries.

On March 24, the Israeli publication Ynet reported that the new Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, had agreed to negotiations with the U.S. This came as a surprise, as Tehran had previously rejected any statements about direct negotiations with Washington. The Iranian Foreign Ministry labeled such statements as false, highlighting the complexity of diplomatic relations between the countries.

On March 25, The New York Times, citing diplomatic sources, reported that the U.S. had sent Iran a 15-point plan for ending the war in the Middle East via Pakistan. According to the information, the general provisions of the American plan pertain to Iran's ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs, underscoring Washington's serious intentions in this matter.

Thus, the situation surrounding Iran remains tense, and further actions by the U.S. could significantly impact regional stability. It is crucial to monitor the developments, as each new step could lead to unpredictable consequences.
