In Chernivtsi, law enforcement officials have uncovered a 24-year-old woman who posed as a psychic and deceived individuals out of their money. One victim, hoping to rekindle a relationship with her ex-boyfriend, lost 300,000 hryvnias to the fraudster.

In a shocking case that has drawn attention in Chernivtsi, law enforcement authorities have arrested a 24-year-old woman who masqueraded as a psychic to swindle unsuspecting clients out of their money. The investigation revealed that one of her victims, a woman seeking to restore her relationship with her former boyfriend, paid the fraudster a staggering 300,000 hryvnias, believing she would receive help in resolving her personal issues.

The incident was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Chernivtsi region. According to the information provided, the perpetrator created a profile on a popular social media platform where she offered her services in fortune-telling, tarot card readings, and various 'extrasensory' rituals. She convinced her clients that she possessed special abilities capable of assisting them in difficult life situations.

Among her clients was a resident of the Chernivtsi region who approached the fraudster with the hope of rekindling her romance with her ex-boyfriend. The woman believed that the fortune-telling and rituals would help her win back her loved one. Over the course of several months, she transferred money to the 'psychic' for her services, ultimately accumulating a total of nearly 300,000 hryvnias. However, despite numerous rituals and readings, no positive outcome occurred.

After the fraudster vanished and stopped responding to messages, the woman decided to report the incident to the police. The victim informed law enforcement of her financial losses, which initiated an investigation into the case. Officers from the regional Cybercrime Prevention Department of the National Police, in collaboration with detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department and investigators from the Chernivtsi District Police, began their inquiry.

As a result of their efforts, the fraudster was identified, and she was formally notified of her suspicion in committing the crime. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and according to the sanctions of the applicable law, the suspect faces up to five years of imprisonment. This case highlights the importance of caution when approaching individuals offering services in fortune-telling and extrasensory perception, as not all of them operate with integrity.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officials are urging citizens to remain vigilant and cautious to avoid becoming victims of fraudsters who exploit people's trust for their selfish purposes. They emphasize the necessity of verifying information about 'psychics' and their services, as well as refraining from trusting dubious offers that could lead to financial losses.
