On Tuesday, April 7, Russian occupiers executed yet another brutal attack, specifically targeting an ambulance in the Dnipro district of Kherson. This aggressive action resulted in the injury of three medical workers, as reported by the regional military administration (OVA).
According to the OVA, among the injured is a 48-year-old woman, along with two men aged 24 and 42. All three medical personnel were diagnosed with concussions, blast injuries, and closed traumatic brain injuries. They were hospitalized in moderate condition, raising serious concerns among medical staff and their relatives.
Moreover, the OVA reported that two additional medical workers were injured in the Dnipro district of Kherson. A 26-year-old doctor and a 25-year-old female doctor sustained injuries while returning home after fulfilling their duties. They also suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds, highlighting the perilous conditions faced by medical personnel amid the ongoing war.
On April 7, Russian forces continuously shelled residential areas in Kherson, causing harm not only to medical personnel but also to the civilian population. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson OVA, reported that as a result of these strikes, three people lost their lives, including two women aged 72 and 71, as well as a 60-year-old man. These casualties further underscore the horrific consequences of Russian aggression on innocent civilians.
In addition, seven individuals sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity due to the shelling, including four women and three men. This indicates that Russian attacks spare no one, and each day brings new casualties among the civilian population.
Oleksandr Prokudin also noted that the shelling damaged several infrastructure facilities, including a store, a pharmacy, and apartments in high-rise buildings. These destructions highlight the irresponsibility of the aggressor, who continues to inflict damage not only on military targets but also on civilian infrastructures vital for people's lives.
Thus, the situation in Kherson remains tense, and medical personnel, who risk their lives daily, continue to fulfill their duties despite the threats posed by Russian occupiers. This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the price Ukrainians pay for their freedom and independence.
