Russians Strike Passenger Bus in Nikopol District of Dnipropetrovsk Region for the Second Time in a Day

On April 7, 2023, in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian troops executed a second attack on a passenger bus within a single day. This incident follows a morning attack in which Russian forces utilized an FPV drone to strike a city bus in the center of Nikopol. Tragically, this earlier assault resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left an additional 16 injured. The bus was approaching a stop when the drone struck, resulting in casualties both inside the bus and at the bus stop where civilians were waiting.

Andriy Kovalенко, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, expressed his outrage regarding this act of aggression. He stated, "The Russians previously announced their intent to terrorize civilians. In Nikopol, they struck a minibus with an FPV drone—there are fatalities. They continue to commit war crimes deliberately. For them, war is about targeting civilians." Kovalенко's comments underscore the horrific reality faced by ordinary citizens in Ukraine, particularly in conflict zones.

This incident is not isolated. Just the day before, on April 6, Russian forces attacked Nikopol using FPV drones and artillery, injuring nine people, including a 1.5-year-old girl. The Dnipropetrovsk region, particularly Nikopol, has been under persistent threat from Russian military forces for an extended period.
