Russia Launches Over 400 Drones Against Ukraine — Yuriy Ihnat

Yuriy Ihnat, the head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, reported a significant threat from the aggressor country Russia, which has launched over 400 drones against Ukraine since the beginning of the day.

Yuriy Ihnat, the head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, revealed during a telethon on the Unified News channel that Russia has posed a serious threat to Ukraine by launching over 400 drones since the start of the day. This alarming information indicates an escalation of military actions and an increase in the activity of Russian forces in the airspace of Ukraine.

Ihnat confirmed that Russia has deployed strategic bombers such as the Tu-95 and Tu-160, which are part of their airstrike tactics. He noted that there is currently a significant number of drones observed in the Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Sumy regions, raising serious concerns among both military personnel and the civilian population.

According to information provided by Ihnat, as of 7:00 AM, around 240 drones had been recorded, but that number has since exceeded 400. This indicates that Russian military forces are actively utilizing drones, with reports of new launches from various directions, highlighting the scale of the attack.

The Air Force representative also pointed out that the Russians are repeating a pattern of mass attacks that have previously been observed on March 23-24 and March 31-April 1, when drones attacked throughout the entire day. This suggests that Russia is attempting to refine its warfare methods, using drones as a primary tool for striking Ukraine.

Ihnat remarked that Ukrainian forces are currently seeing a 'red' map due to the number of aerial targets. "We see a huge number of drones moving in swarms, as has already been reported on social media. And here, a common question arises: 'Why aren't they being shot down?' If you look at the Virazh tablet system or other maps we use, it becomes clear that intercepting such a large number of UAVs simultaneously at the approaches or in frontline regions is, unfortunately, physically impossible with the available means," Ihnat explained, emphasizing the complexity of the situation.

At the same time, he stressed that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are gradually destroying the drones. Currently, tactical aviation, helicopters, interceptor drones, as well as ground and echeloned air defense systems are actively engaged. This indicates that the Ukrainian military is not overlooking the aerial threats and is doing everything possible to protect its territory.

On the morning of April 3, air raid alerts were declared in several regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, due to the threat of Russian strike drones. Russia has also launched cruise missiles from strategic bombers Tu-95 and Tu-160, indicating an increasing threat from the aggressor and the necessity for Ukraine to enhance its defensive measures.
