Russia Attacks Zaporizhzhia Region: New Post Branch Destroyed, Damage Estimated at 300,000 Hryvnias
In a recent escalation of hostilities, Russian forces launched an attack on the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine, destroying a New Post branch and causing significant financial losses.
In the early hours of Thursday, April 9, the aggressor nation Russia carried out yet another attack on Ukrainian territory, specifically targeting the Zaporizhzhia region. This time, the strike involved the use of a Geran-2 drone, which resulted in the destruction of a New Post branch located in the village of Novomykolaivka. This incident has sparked outrage among the public and serves as yet another testament to Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine.
The press service of New Post confirmed the destruction of the branch, noting that no employees were harmed as the premises were closed at night. However, tragically, as a result of the Russian military strike, over 150 packages that were stored at the branch were burned. This has caused significant losses for the company, which is currently working actively to provide compensation to its clients.
Representatives from New Post reported that they have already begun reaching out to customers whose packages were affected by the attack. The preliminary amount of compensation that the company plans to pay is estimated at 300,000 hryvnias. This reflects the seriousness of the situation and the company's readiness to support its clients during these challenging times.
Furthermore, New Post has indicated that a mobile branch is planned to be established near the destroyed premises to ensure that customers can still access delivery services even under such difficult conditions. This decision aims to support the population that requires urgent services due to the circumstances of the war.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, also commented on the situation, stating that Russian forces launched at least eight strikes on the Zaporizhzhia district. As a result of these shellings, one person was killed, and four others were injured. In the village of Balabine, several private homes were destroyed, further underscoring the horrific consequences of the aggression.
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the night, Russia deployed 119 strike drones of types Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others against Ukraine. However, thanks to the coordinated efforts of air defense, 99 enemy drones were neutralized. This demonstrates the high level of training and professionalism of the Ukrainian military, who continue to defend the country against external aggression.
Thus, the situation in the Zaporizhzhia region remains tense, and citizens continue to face the repercussions of a war that has now lasted for over a year. Attacks on civilian infrastructure, such as the destruction of New Post branches, only highlight the brutality and ruthlessness of the aggressor, which in turn elicits even greater support from Ukrainians in their fight for independence.
