Damage to the 'Slavynin' Ferry in Crimea Complicates Enemy Logistics - Pletenchuk

In a recent broadcast on a television channel, Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, elaborated on the consequences of the damage inflicted on the 'Slavynin' ferry, marking yet another setback for the logistical operations of Russian troops in Crimea. According to Pletenchuk, this incident is not the first time the ferry has suffered damage, and the situation is quite serious as the 'Slavynin' is a large vessel with a high cargo capacity, capable of transporting railway cars.

"This is a significant disadvantage for the Russian forces, as such ferries play a crucial role in ensuring logistics," Pletenchuk stated. He also reminded viewers that the 'Slavynin' had previously been removed from international routes, highlighting its importance in the transportation system and indicating that Russian troops may be experiencing a logistics shortfall.

The spokesperson emphasized that Russian forces will now have to rely on the railway system they have established in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine. "I believe that there will be increased pressure on the railway they have laid down in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine. After all, supplies still need to be delivered," he noted.

Pletenchuk also discussed the challenges faced by Russian troops in maintaining logistics, particularly the supply of fuel for their large aviation group, which in turn increases the burden on alternative routes. This indicates that the situation at the front remains tense, with Russian forces encountering difficulties in meeting their logistical needs.

Furthermore, in response to a question regarding whether only road transport remains, Pletenchuk pointed out that there is also "passenger transport; a combined bridge crossing is used in all variations, with exceptions regarding the movement of heavy armored vehicles." He explained that this is related to the damages sustained during the transportation of fuel and lubricants, as these are hazardous materials that require additional precautions. However, he stated that this does not mean that Russian forces cannot conduct such transport in the future.

"I think we will eventually see how they adapt to the new conditions," Pletenchuk concluded. This suggests that the situation in southern Ukraine remains dynamic, and Russian forces continue to seek ways to meet their logistical requirements.

It is worth noting that recently, special forces from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense neutralized the last railway ferry used by the Russians in the Kerch Strait, further complicating the situation for the enemy. These events indicate that Ukrainian forces are actively working to dismantle the logistical capabilities of Russian troops.
