Negotiations for Ceasefire Between Ukraine, US, and Russia Postponed Due to Middle East Situation, But Will Resume

Negotiations aimed at ending the war involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia have been postponed due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has assured that the process will be resumed.

Negotiations regarding the cessation of hostilities in the format of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia have been postponed due to the intensification of the situation in the Middle East. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed this in an interview with the Italian radio station Rai Radio, emphasizing that the peace process will be resumed.

Zelensky pointed out that the United States is currently "more focused on the Middle East," which has led to the postponement of the trilateral negotiations with Russia. "But we will start again," the President of Ukraine stressed, expressing hope for the resumption of dialogue.

On March 27 of this year, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the dates for the next trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia have yet to be set. There was an attempt to hold another trilateral meeting in early March in Abu Dhabi, but due to the commencement of military actions by the US and Israel against Iran, as well as Iranian strikes on countries in the Persian Gulf, this meeting was postponed.

On March 30, the President of Ukraine expressed confidence that the negotiation process has not reached a deadlock. He emphasized that Ukraine will not give up, as its defense forces are now stronger than they were even six months ago. The importance of continuing negotiations was also highlighted by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who expressed concern about a potential stalemate in the peace talks.

On April 4, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, reported that the process of peace negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States is ongoing, although it is extremely complex. Budanov also noted that Ukraine hopes for the arrival of an American delegation in Kyiv to continue the peace negotiations, which could become an important step in restoring dialogue.

Thus, despite the difficulties, the Ukrainian side continues to seek ways to revive the peace process, hoping for the support of international partners in resolving the conflict.
