Ukrzaliznytsia, the state-owned railway company of Ukraine, has made a crucial advancement in its passenger service offerings by declaring that online ticket purchases for suburban trains are now accessible to residents in seven more regions. These regions include Lviv, Volyn, Ternopil, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, and Chernivtsi. This announcement was made via the company's official Telegram channel on Friday.
According to the information provided by Ukrzaliznytsia, passengers in these regions can now easily purchase tickets for suburban routes directly through the mobile application. This development significantly simplifies the ticket-buying process, allowing passengers to avoid long queues at train stations and save valuable time.
To utilize this new feature, users need to download the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application on their smartphones. Once installed, they should navigate to the 'Suburban' section, select their departure points, and proceed to purchase their tickets. The application is available for both iOS and Android operating systems, making it convenient for a wide range of passengers.
Furthermore, Ukrzaliznytsia reminded users that discounted tickets, which are held in a special reserve, can also be purchased online. This means that passengers eligible for discounts can obtain their tickets without having to visit a ticket counter, further streamlining the travel process.
To purchase an online ticket with a discount, users must update the Ukrzaliznytsia application to the latest version. After updating, they can click on the 'Add Discount' option in their profile and enter their identification number. If necessary, users can also activate the 'Person in a Wheelchair' option, which will provide additional benefits when purchasing tickets.
