On April 3, an alarming incident occurred at the National Military Memorial Cemetery, where a Russian drone crashed during a ceremony honoring unknown defenders of Ukraine, raising concerns and outrage. According to the press service of the institution, Russian forces committed yet another cynical act of terrorism when their unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fell on the grounds where ceremonies were being held. This incident transpired just before the start of the next ceremony, which was to include the burial of an urn containing the ashes of a Ukrainian hero.

The drone crash resulted in partial damage to the administrative building, technical water storage tanks, the fence, and other infrastructure elements of the cemetery. However, thanks to the coordinated actions of the relevant services and adherence to safety protocols, all attendees were quickly directed to shelters, preventing any casualties. The institution confirmed that no one was harmed, and the burial sites of Ukrainian heroes remained undamaged.

The press service of the National Military Memorial Cemetery emphasized that Russia is once again revealing its true nature by attempting to strike not only at the living but also at places of memory. This includes locations where the state and all Ukrainians honor their defenders, creating a space for silence, respect, and dignity. It was noted that these barbaric acts by the aggressor will bring nothing but shame.

"We will promptly restore all damages and continue to fulfill our duty—to bid farewell to our defenders with dignity and honor every Ukrainian warrior," officials at the National Military Memorial Cemetery stated. This underscores the unyielding spirit of Ukrainians who, despite external threats, continue to uphold their duty to the memory of the fallen.

It is important to remember that as a result of a massive attack by Russian forces on April 3, damages were reported in the Bucha, Fastiv, and Obukhiv districts of the Kyiv region. This attack resulted in one death and eight injuries, including a child. These events highlight the ongoing threat posed by Russian aggression to the peaceful population of Ukraine.

Photographs from the scene were published on the official social media page of the National Military Memorial Cemetery, further emphasizing the importance of honoring the memory of the fallen and supporting those who continue to fight for Ukraine's independence.
