36 People Injured, Including 19 Children, in Russian Attacks in Sumy Region

On April 4, relentless attacks by Russian forces in the Sumy region resulted in 36 injuries, including 19 children. The devastating events primarily affected the Sumy community, where both children and adults felt the impact of the assaults.

On April 4, the Sumy region witnessed a tragic escalation in violence as Russian military forces launched a series of attacks, leaving 36 individuals injured, among them 19 children. These horrifying incidents primarily unfolded within the Sumy community, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the assaults that have affected both the young and the elderly.

According to information provided by the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the injuries sustained by the 19 children were the result of a drone strike that occurred during the night of April 4. The victims included girls aged 2, 7, 10, 11, and 15 years, alongside boys aged 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 years. In addition to the children, 10 adults were also injured, including women aged 33, 50, 57, 65, 79, and 79 years, as well as men aged 47, 53, 57, and 92 years.

Furthermore, as a result of drone attacks that took place during the day on April 4, a 52-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were injured. This data underscores the ongoing toll of Russian aggression, which continues to inflict harm on the civilian population.

In the Popivska community, a 65-year-old woman was injured due to a missile strike, while another 66-year-old woman also sustained injuries. In the Sveska community, a 69-year-old man was hurt when a hostile drone struck his car. Additionally, in the Hlukhiv community, a 25-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were injured when a hostile drone hit their vehicle.

Moreover, a 48-year-old woman sought medical attention after being injured on April 3 due to a cluster munitions strike in the Shostka community. This incident highlights the alarming security situation in the region, where civilians are increasingly becoming victims of military actions.

Throughout the day, from the morning of April 4 to the morning of April 5, Russian forces conducted over 60 shellings across 35 populated areas in 18 territorial communities of the region. These bombardments resulted in damage and destruction to residential buildings as well as civilian infrastructure, further complicating the lives of the region's residents.

According to the regional administration, air raid alerts in the area lasted for 23 hours and 6 minutes during the day, indicating a persistent threat to the population. This situation has raised concerns among the residents of Sumy, who continue to suffer the consequences of war.
