Kyiv Receives New Specialized Minibuses for Social Services from German Partners

Kyiv has received new specialized minibuses for social services, enabling the daily transportation of an additional 40-50 children with disabilities. Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on his Telegram channel, emphasizing the importance of this step in improving social services in the city.

Kyiv has recently welcomed new specialized minibuses dedicated to social services, which will facilitate the daily transport of an additional 40-50 children with disabilities. Mayor Vitali Klitschko shared this news via his Telegram channel, highlighting the significance of this initiative in enhancing social services within the capital.

The new minibuses were provided to Kyiv with financial support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany. This initiative was made possible through collaboration with partner cities such as Leipzig, Berlin, and Charlottenburg. Mayor Klitschko noted that such international exchanges of experience and resources are crucial for the development of the city’s social infrastructure.

According to available information, over 1,500 residents of Kyiv currently require regular transportation services from the city’s social service center, including children with disabilities. For many families, these transport services are essential, as children need transportation 3-4 times a week for visits to doctors, rehabilitation sessions, and educational purposes.

The demand for social transportation significantly exceeds the available capacity. In the first three months of this year alone, the social transport service of the city’s social center completed nearly 10,000 trips, underscoring the relevance and necessity of such services. Mayor Klitschko pointed out that even the existing resources are insufficient to meet all needs, and each new minibus represents an opportunity for individuals with disabilities to receive treatment, undergo rehabilitation, remain active, and avoid feelings of isolation.

Klitschko expressed gratitude to the German partners for their support and assured that the capital will continue to develop social services, making them more accessible for all those in need. He emphasized that social infrastructure is a priority for the city authorities, and the new minibuses will serve as an important step in this direction.

Additionally, it is worth noting that recently, 20 new modern buses purchased from Turkey were put into service in Kyiv as part of a financial agreement with the European Investment Bank under the 'Urban Public Transport of Ukraine' project. This is yet another example of how the city is striving to improve the quality of public transport and ensure comfortable conditions for all residents.

Kyiv continues to actively collaborate with international partners, aiming to make social services more accessible and efficient for its citizens. Mayor Klitschko called on all interested parties to join initiatives that contribute to the development of the capital and to support social projects that assist individuals with disabilities.
