In a recent television broadcast, Dmitry Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, revealed that Russian naval vessels are not leaving their designated positions, relying instead on aviation and drones to maintain their presence at sea. This information was reported by a correspondent from Ukrinform.
Pletenchuk emphasized that flights are operating regularly both day and night. He explained, 'This is not only aviation; it also involves drone warfare. These are the units that were recently mentioned in the General Staff's report, including the Be-12 amphibious aircraft, which has been targeted multiple times, along with many other diverse units. Helicopters are being used for this purpose, as well as reconnaissance drones and operational-tactical level drones equipped with AI weaponry, in addition to their reconnaissance capabilities.'
According to Pletenchuk, this level of activity is constant and ongoing, ensuring that the enemy can carry out its missions in the airspace. 'Therefore, this process is happening 24/7, and this is essentially the only way for the Russians to maintain any presence in the water area, as their ships do not leave their deployment points,' he explained.
As reported by Ukrinform, there are currently no enemy ships or even boats in the waters of the Azov-Black Sea region. This absence of naval vessels highlights the reliance on aerial and drone capabilities by the Russian forces, which are crucial for their operational strategy in the region.
The situation in the Azov-Black Sea area remains tense, with both sides actively monitoring each other's movements. The Ukrainian Navy continues to adapt to the changing dynamics of naval warfare, focusing on enhancing its own aerial capabilities to counter the Russian presence.
In the face of ongoing tensions, the Ukrainian military has been vocal about the need for international support and assistance in bolstering its defense capabilities. The reliance on drones and advanced technology has become a significant aspect of modern warfare, with both sides investing heavily in these areas.
As the conflict continues, the strategic importance of the Azov-Black Sea region becomes increasingly apparent. Control over these waters is vital for both Ukraine and Russia, impacting trade routes, military logistics, and regional security. The ongoing developments in aerial and naval operations will likely play a crucial role in shaping the future of the conflict.
