Collaborator from Occupation's 'Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia' in Zaporizhzhia Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison – SBU

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced the sentencing of a collaborator who worked with the enemy within the ranks of the occupation's 'Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia' in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region.

Based on the evidence collected, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has declared the sentencing of a collaborator who cooperated with the enemy in the ranks of the occupation's 'Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia' in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region. According to information released by the SBU press service, this criminal received a sentence of 13 years in prison for his activities in favor of the aggressor.

SBU officers detained the collaborator in August 2025 in western Ukraine. He arrived in this region as a displaced person, seeking to resolve personal family matters. However, shortly after his arrival, he attempted to mobilize into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hoping to evade justice for his previous activities. Nevertheless, the Security Service timely uncovered his intentions and apprehended him in a hospital, where he had gone to try to 'lie low' under the guise of seeking treatment.

According to the investigation, the convicted individual turned out to be a resident of the temporarily occupied Mykhailivka community in the Zaporizhzhia region. After the occupation of his native settlement, he decided to join the ranks of the Russian forces, becoming part of the occupation apparatus.

In his new role, the collaborator was appointed as a 'patrol officer' to the so-called 'district department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia'. After being enrolled in this body, he received weapons, uniforms, and a Russian-style 'identification' confirming his status. While in this position, the criminal carried out tasks aimed at persecuting participants of the resistance movement in the region and also took part in repressions against local entrepreneurs.

According to information provided by the SBU, the collaborator threatened those entrepreneurs who refused to work under Russian 'legislation' with abduction and imprisonment. These actions became part of the system of terror that the occupying authorities implemented in the occupied territories, attempting to intimidate the local population and force them to submit to the new order.

As a result, based on the materials from the SBU, the court found the collaborator guilty under part 7 of Article 111-1 (collaboration activities) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sentence received by the criminal is a testament to the fact that the Ukrainian authorities continue to actively combat collaborationism and protect the sovereignty of the country.
