Iran Rapidly Rebuilding Missile Bunkers Following US and Israeli Attacks - US Intelligence

According to a report published in The New York Times, US intelligence claims that Iran is swiftly rebuilding its missile bunkers after recent attacks by the US and Israel. This news has raised concerns among American military officials and politicians, indicating that despite significant efforts to dismantle Iran's missile capabilities, the situation remains complex.

According to information published in The New York Times, US intelligence asserts that Iran is continuing to rapidly rebuild its missile bunkers following recent attacks from the US and Israel. This revelation has sparked concern among American military and political leaders, as it suggests that despite substantial efforts aimed at destroying Iran's missile potential, the situation remains challenging.

This week, representatives from the Pentagon and the White House reported significant progress in the war against Iran, noting that over the past five weeks, 11,000 targets within Iran had been struck. However, despite these successes, US intelligence has expressed doubts regarding the actual effectiveness of these attacks in the context of dismantling Iran's missile arsenal.

American intelligence agencies have been unable to provide precise data on the remaining missiles and launchers in Iran, but emphasize that the country still possesses the capability to utilize its arsenal of ballistic missiles to launch attacks on Israel and other regional nations. This is corroborated by American officials who have access to intelligence data.

Specifically, intelligence indicates that most of Iran's launchers are located in underground bunkers and caves, which provide them protection from attacks. Even with the limited use of these launchers and a reduced arsenal, Iran continues to strike at Israel. According to American officials, the number of missile attacks ranges from 20 rockets per day to 15-30 ballistic missiles and 50-100 kamikaze drones.

Accurate assessments of Iran's current potential remain uncertain, as the country often employs decoys to mislead adversaries. Furthermore, it is challenging to estimate how many launchers may be hidden in bunkers or caves, complicating the task for American military forces.

At the same time, intelligence highlights that underground bunkers and caves, which may initially appear damaged, are actually being rapidly restored. Iran is actively excavating its launchers, repairing them, and relocating them to new positions, indicating their readiness for further conflicts.

Previously, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that a "significant reduction" in Iran's missile potential is one of the key objectives of the war. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has also repeatedly discussed the damages Iran has suffered due to US and Israeli attacks, as well as the reduction in the number of Iranian missile strikes. In a statement from White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly, it was claimed that "the number of Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks has decreased by 90%, their naval fleet has been destroyed, two-thirds of production capabilities have been damaged or destroyed, and the US and Israel maintain air superiority over Iran."

It is worth recalling that recently, for the first time since the onset of hostilities, an American fighter jet was shot down over Iran. One of the two crew members was rescued by US special forces, while the search for the second crew member is still ongoing. This incident underscores the tension in the region and the complexity of the situation surrounding Iran's missile potential.
