Estonian Foreign Minister Comments on Odesa Shelling: Words of 'Deep Concern' Are Not Enough

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu has made a strong statement regarding the recent shelling of Odesa, which took place during the night of April 6. In a post on social media platform X, he emphasized that this incident serves as further evidence of the cruelty perpetrated by Russia, which shows no signs of halting its aggressive actions against Ukraine.

Reinsalu highlighted the tragic consequences of the nighttime strikes, which resulted in civilian casualties while people were sleeping in their homes. Among the deceased were a young mother and her two-year-old child, alongside other individuals who fell victim to this horrifying attack. Numerous others sustained injuries, underscoring the irresponsibility and cynicism of the aggressor.

“Words of ‘deep concern’ are not enough. As long as Russian oil and gas continue to receive funding, this terror will persist,” Reinsalu stressed. He called upon the international community to take decisive action, noting that without new packages of sanctions against Russia, the aggressor will continue to kill innocent people, including children. “Silence and indifference cost human lives,” he concluded.
