Valentina Farm Successfully Sells Juices Without Logistics Costs
In the midst of war, owning a business presents both challenges and opportunities. Valentina Farm, located in Kyiv region, exemplifies how to successfully market products without incurring logistics costs or relying on large retail chains.
In the context of war, having a business is not just a challenge but also an opportunity. Valentina Farm, situated in the Kyiv region, has become a striking example of how to successfully market products without spending money on logistics and without depending on large retail chains. This enterprise specializes in the production of freshly squeezed juices, utilizing fruits from its own orchard, which spans 9.5 hectares and grows over 15 varieties of apple trees.
Co-owner of Valentina Farm, Inna Semerog, shared her experience, noting that even in a small district center, it is possible to generate sufficient demand for products if the value of the product is communicated effectively to consumers and direct engagement is maintained. "The local market is the best place for sales, capable of meeting the needs of buyers and the ambitions of producers," she emphasized.
According to information published in AgroTimes, Inna Semerog pointed out that if a farmer can sell their products at the level of a district center with a population of 10,000 to 15,000 families, each of these families purchasing one pack of three-liter juice per month could form the basis for a stable business. "Here is a ready-made development strategy," she added.
This approach allows producers to sell their products directly on-site, which, in turn, helps avoid costs related to logistics, distribution, and entry into retail networks. According to Inna Semerog's calculations, this enables her to sell between 30 to 50 tons of juice annually within a single local market. However, she emphasizes the importance of communication with buyers and building trust with the producer: "The local sales format only works when the farmer is consistently present in their market and fosters repeat demand."
Thus, Valentina Farm demonstrates that even in challenging conditions such as war, effective business solutions can be found. They not only ensure a stable market for their products but also support the local economy by creating jobs and meeting consumer demands for quality products. This inspires other entrepreneurs to seek new opportunities and develop their businesses despite the challenges they face.
