In the early hours of April 3, 2023, Moscow and the Leningrad region experienced a drone attack that has caused considerable concern among residents. According to information provided by local authorities, some of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were successfully destroyed, yet details surrounding the incident continue to be clarified.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated in his announcement that Russian air defense forces managed to shoot down one of the drones that was heading towards the capital of the Russian Federation. He later specified that another drone had been destroyed, indicating the ongoing activity of hostile forces in the airspace over Moscow.

In response to the aerial threat, temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft were implemented at several airports across Russia, including Vnukovo, Pulkovo, and Tunoha. This decision was made to ensure the safety of passengers and aircraft, as the situation remained tense.
