House in a Day: HutJet Showcases a New Level of Prefab Technology!

On March 28, 2023, in Kyiv, HutJet organized an impressive event dedicated to the open assembly of a prefab house, which served as a striking example of innovative construction methods. This event not only showcased new technologies but also transformed the technical process into a public demonstration, attracting the attention of many representatives from the development market and creative industries.

At the Domosphere shopping center, a Lake (α) house covering an area of 136 square meters was assembled in just one day. The impressive installation of three separate modules took only eight hours. The completed structure was fully ready for habitation, equipped with everything necessary, from finishing touches to furniture and integrated engineering solutions.

Among the numerous attendees were notable figures such as Yaroslav Korniyachenko from Vlasne Misto, Andriy Fedoriv from Fedoriv Group, Dmytro Dyachuk from DFD, and Yuriy Korzhevsky from Zoloche Group. This event provided not only an opportunity to see the results but also to understand the principles behind achieving them, emphasizing the importance of openness and transparency in the construction process.

The assembly took place in an open format, allowing guests to interact, enjoy barbecue, and observe the house formation process. This format underscored HutJet's key idea: in the production model, construction ceases to be a complicated and closed process, becoming understandable and predictable for all participants.

The primary distinction of this new approach is that a significant portion of the work is carried out not on the construction site but in a manufacturing environment. In traditional models, construction is time-distributed and dependent on many external factors, such as weather conditions and contractor organization. In the prefab format, these variables are minimized, significantly simplifying the process.

HutJet's founder, Serhiy Samusyev, describes this model as “3+1”: approximately three weeks are required for production, after which the house is assembled at the chosen location in just one day. In the future, the company plans to reduce the production cycle to 72 hours, marking another step towards process optimization.

In this case, assembly is the final stage rather than the main part of the process. A nearly completed structure is delivered to the site, significantly reducing work duration and minimizing the impact of external factors. This allows for a focus on quality and precision, which are critical aspects of construction.

The prefab technology involves the manufacture of structures, engineering systems, and part of the internal filling in factory conditions. This ensures greater accuracy, stable quality, and repeatability of results, which are critically important for modern construction.

From a development perspective, this model provides a higher level of control over timelines and budgets. The project transitions into a format where key parameters are predefined and can be reproduced without significant deviations. This reduces risks and enhances the efficiency of all construction stages.

The practice of open assembly has become a vivid way to visually demonstrate changes in construction approaches. Housing is gradually moving out of the category of long-term construction processes and acquiring characteristics of a product with a clear logic of creation and predictable outcomes. This indicates that innovations in construction are becoming increasingly accessible and understandable to the general public.
