AVT Bavaria Invests 4 Million Hryvnias in Generators for Children's Sports Schools
AVT Bavaria, an official partner of the Ukrainian Football Association, has launched a new social initiative aimed at supporting children's football schools amid the country's ongoing energy challenges.
AVT Bavaria, a prominent company and official partner of the Ukrainian Football Association, has announced the launch of a new social initiative as part of its four-year partnership. The project, titled 'Dreams Do Not Wait,' aims to support children's football schools facing energy challenges in Ukraine. The total cost of this initiative exceeds 4 million hryvnias, underscoring the company's serious commitment to supporting young athletes.
In Ukraine, regular attacks on the energy infrastructure have resulted in frequent power outages for sports schools across the country. This situation leads to the cancellation or significant reduction of training sessions, hindering thousands of children from developing in sports and continuing to engage in their favorite activities. AVT Bavaria seeks to change this scenario by providing children's sports schools with the necessary equipment to continue training even during power outages.
The idea for this project emerged after a video surfaced online showing parents illuminating a football field with car headlights so that children could complete their training during a blackout. This moment became a symbol of the unyielding desire of children to play football and pursue their dreams despite the difficulties they face.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the Ukrainian Football Association, which also aims to provide comprehensive support for the development of sports in Ukraine. The first step in implementing the initiative was the installation of a generator at the Children's and Youth Sports School No. 21 in Kyiv. In the near future, similar equipment will be delivered to sports schools in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Mykolaiv.
Eric Berning, the General Director of AVT Bavaria, commented on this initiative, stating, 'The true power of sports lies in the ability to give children faith in themselves and their future. When we saw the video of parents illuminating the football field with flashlights so that children could continue their training, it became a very strong symbol. A symbol that even in the darkness, Ukrainian children do not stop dreaming. And our task is to help these dreams continue. It is important for us to be not just a partner of Ukrainian football but also a partner for the future generation. Investing in children means investing in the future of the country. If our initiative helps even a few sports schools to continue training, and children to not postpone their dreams due to the lack of light, that already holds great significance.'
Sabrina Gildehaus, the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at AVT Bavaria, also emphasized the importance of the company's social responsibility: 'For AVT Bavaria, social responsibility is a long-term commitment to support the younger generation in Ukraine. In various projects, we help children receive quality education, develop through sports, and have opportunities for their future. The 'Dreams Do Not Wait' initiative is a logical continuation of this strategy — because even in difficult times, children should have the opportunity to train, grow, and believe in their own abilities.'
Thus, AVT Bavaria demonstrates its commitment to social responsibility and support for young athletes in Ukraine by providing them with the necessary resources to continue training under challenging conditions.
