In Kherson, three people have been confirmed dead as a result of shelling by Russian military forces, with the casualties including two women aged 72 and 71, and a 60-year-old man. This grim news was shared by Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, through his Telegram channel.
The attack occurred around 10:50 AM, targeting residential buildings and leading to devastating consequences. All three victims suffered injuries that were deemed incompatible with life due to direct hits from artillery shells.
Additionally, emergency medical services transported three injured individuals to the hospital. Among them were women aged 71 and 57, along with a 72-year-old man. They are currently receiving the necessary medical care, and their condition has been assessed as stable.
According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the number of injured from the Russian shelling in the city's Ship District has risen to five. Among those hospitalized is a 60-year-old man who was admitted in moderate condition. He has been diagnosed with traumatic amputation of a toe, a concussion, as well as explosive and closed head injuries.
Another victim, an 81-year-old man, sustained shrapnel wounds to the face, along with a concussion and explosive head trauma. Medical professionals continue to provide him with essential care and are monitoring his condition closely.
This shelling marks yet another tragic incident in Kherson, a city that has faced multiple attacks from Russian forces. Notably, on April 7 of this year, Russian troops also targeted the city, resulting in injuries to a 14-year-old child. These events have sparked significant concern among residents and local authorities, as the safety of civilians remains under threat.
In light of these events, local authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and remain in safe locations while the situation remains tense. The government is also continuing its efforts to ensure medical assistance for the injured and support for the families of the deceased.
