A temporary truce between Ukraine and Russia over Orthodox Easter began at 4:00 pm local time (1300 GMT) on Saturday, but Kyiv warned it would respond “immediately” if Russia violated it .
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday ordered the ceasefire, more than a week after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky first made the proposal.
