Zelensky Invites US Negotiation Delegation to Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has recently expressed his desire to invite an American negotiation delegation to Kyiv, a move he believes could facilitate peace talks amid ongoing tensions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has recently expressed his desire to invite an American negotiation delegation to Kyiv. This information was revealed during a meeting with journalists, as reported by the news agency Interfax-Ukraine and the publication European Truth.

Zelensky believes that this step could serve as an alternative to a trilateral meeting at the technical group level, as the American delegation would be able to visit Kyiv and subsequently travel to Moscow. 'I have invited the American negotiation delegation to Kyiv. The delegation will do everything possible under the current conditions—during the war with Iran—to come to Kyiv. This is an alternative option to a trilateral meeting at the technical group level. The American group can come to us and then go to Moscow,' he noted.

The president also emphasized that if organizing a meeting in a three-party format proves unfeasible, the option of negotiations 'in turn' could be considered. 'This is our proposal,' added the Ukrainian president, demonstrating his readiness for dialogue.

It is worth mentioning that Zelensky had previously explained that organizing a trilateral meeting is complicated due to security concerns preventing American negotiators from leaving US territory since the onset of the campaign against Iran. This factor significantly complicates the possibility of holding a meeting in the traditional format.

Furthermore, Zelensky announced that in the coming days, Ukraine plans to submit responses to questions arising regarding the security guarantees from the US in the developed document. This indicates active work by the Ukrainian side to ensure security and stability in the region.

Recall that Zelensky had negotiations with the American team on April 1, during which the issue of a ceasefire in the Russian-Ukrainian war during the Easter holidays was discussed. According to the president, the talks focused on Ukraine's proposal for a ceasefire, as well as security guarantees and the involvement of European partners in this process.

Thus, the invitation of the American delegation to Kyiv could become an important step towards peace negotiations and stabilizing the situation in Ukraine. President Zelensky continues to demonstrate his willingness for dialogue and to seek ways to resolve the ongoing conflict that has persisted for several years.
