Zelensky Calls on Partners to Restore Maritime Routes
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced Ukraine's readiness to enhance support for partners facing challenges in maritime freedom due to escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring Ukraine's vital role in global security and stability.
During a recent address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is prepared to explore opportunities to bolster support for its partners who are encountering difficulties in maritime freedom as a result of heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. This statement highlights Ukraine's significant position in global security and stability issues concerning maritime routes.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is actively participating in all formats of international cooperation aimed at enhancing security and strengthening collective efforts. "Ukraine is involved in all forms of interaction with partners for greater security and our shared strength. We continue to work now with countries that are under the strikes of the Iranian regime," the president underscored.
Furthermore, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that in the near future, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, will present a detailed report on the work being conducted by Ukraine, particularly concerning each country located in the region from the Gulf to Turkey. This report aims to inform about the progress in restoring maritime routes and ensuring security in the waters.
Additionally, the president reminded that Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha participated on April 2 in a joint format with European countries and other partners, discussing the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and issues related to maritime freedom. These meetings are crucial for forming a unified position on ensuring stability in the region.
"Ukraine has the relevant expertise regarding maritime routes—concerning the protection and restoration of movement. And if partners are ready to act, we will consider how we can strengthen them, how we can add our expertise, knowledge, and technological potential. It is currently impossible to imagine real security without Ukraine," Zelensky noted, emphasizing the importance of Ukraine's contribution to maritime security.
This presidential statement reflects Ukraine's proactive stance on global security issues and its readiness to collaborate with international partners to overcome challenges arising in the maritime sector. In light of recent events related to the escalation of tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, this initiative could represent a significant step in strengthening international security and stability in the region.
