Zelensky: The Situation on the Front is the Best for Ukraine in the Last 10 Months

During a meeting with journalists on April 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed that the current situation on the front lines is the best for Ukraine in the last ten months, according to intelligence from British MI6.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conveyed a sense of optimism regarding the military situation during a press conference on April 2, stating that the current conditions on the front lines are the most favorable for Ukraine in the past ten months. This assessment was based on insights provided by British intelligence, particularly from MI6, which offered its perspective on the ongoing military developments.

"I received MI6's assessment regarding the situation on our front lines, specifically that the current situation is the best for Ukraine in the last 10 months. This is their conclusion, and all partners see it this way," Zelensky emphasized, highlighting the importance of international support and the evaluation of the situation.

Zelensky also pointed out that the conclusions drawn are based on analyses from both British and Ukrainian intelligence. This reflects the close cooperation between the two countries in the fields of security and defense, which is a crucial factor in countering aggression from Russia.

At the same time, on April 2, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that Russia intends to continue its war against Ukraine at least until the end of summer, and is also considering the possibility of conducting military operations throughout the year. This indicates that despite the positive assessments from Ukrainian leadership, the threat posed by Russia remains serious.

Furthermore, on April 1, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, in a characteristic style of Russian propaganda, stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky needs to make a decision to withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the territory of Donbas "today," claiming that he should have made this decision "yesterday." This statement illustrates the pressure that Russia is attempting to exert on the Ukrainian leadership.

In the days leading up to this, Zelensky also remarked that Russia is making demands for Ukraine to withdraw from the parts of Donbas under its control within two months, asserting that if this occurs, "the war will end." These demands reflect Russia's attempts to impose its conditions on Ukraine, raising concerns among the Ukrainian public and international partners.

Previously, the president indicated that the team of U.S. President Donald Trump is eager to end the war but sees the only way forward as through concessions from Ukraine. This has raised alarms among many Ukrainians who fear such concessions could lead to the loss of territory and sovereignty.

In February, The New York Times reported, citing military officials and Western intelligence, that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is prepared to continue the war against Ukraine for another two years to gain full control over Donbas. This underscores the prolonged nature of the conflict and the seriousness of Russia's intentions towards Ukraine.

Thus, while the situation on the front lines may appear optimistic from the perspective of Ukrainian leadership, the challenges facing the country remain significant and complex. The ongoing conflict continues to pose a serious threat, and the international community watches closely as developments unfold.
