Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who visited the capital of Syria on Sunday, April 5, arrived in Damascus on a government plane belonging to Turkey. This information has been confirmed by the publication 'European Truth'. Video footage that has surfaced online shows Zelensky disembarking from the aircraft, which bore the inscription 'Republic of Turkey', indicating that it was indeed a government flight.

In his social media message, Zelensky stated: 'Today in Damascus. We continue our active Ukrainian diplomacy aimed at real security and economic cooperation. Important meetings are ahead – several substantive formats have been prepared. Every nation and every region deserves a peaceful life.' These words underscore Ukraine's desire for active participation in international relations and its search for ways to stabilize the situation in the region.

According to reports from Turkish media, this was indeed a government plane of the Turkish government. On the same day, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also arrived in Syria for a visit, indicating Turkey's active diplomatic engagement in the region. Although Turkish news outlets did not mention Zelensky's arrival on the same aircraft, it was noted that Fidan would participate in a trilateral meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Zelensky.

Commenting on his visit, Zelensky emphasized the importance of active diplomacy for ensuring security and developing economic ties. It is worth recalling that on April 4, Zelensky arrived in Istanbul, where he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During this meeting, the leaders discussed new steps in the field of security cooperation. Erdogan also confirmed to Zelensky Turkey's readiness to host the next round of negotiations aimed at concluding the Russian-Ukrainian war, which is a significant step in the search for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
