Zelensky and Erdogan Agree on New Steps in Security Cooperation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the outcomes of his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, highlighting the importance of bilateral relations and security cooperation between the two nations.

According to Ukrinform, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky shared updates regarding the results of his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan through the social media platform Facebook. In his post, he noted that the two leaders discussed significant issues concerning the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Turkey, as well as the current situation in Europe and the Middle East.

Zelensky emphasized that joint and coordinated actions from both countries are critically important for strengthening the protection of people's lives and ensuring greater security for nations across various regions of the world. He highlighted that security is a shared priority that requires efforts from both states.

During the meeting, the presidents agreed on new steps in security cooperation, which, according to Zelensky, pertain to areas where Ukraine can provide support to Turkey. This includes expertise, technologies, and experiences that could be beneficial for both countries.

The President of Ukraine pointed out that there is a fundamental political readiness to work together, and that the teams of both presidents will finalize the details of cooperation in the coming days. This reflects the intention of both nations to strengthen their relationships in the face of modern security challenges.

Zelensky also stressed the importance of discussing practical steps for implementing joint projects in the field of gas infrastructure. He emphasized the opportunities for joint development of gas fields, which could become a significant aspect of energy security for both nations.

The Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to Erdogan and the people of Turkey for their continued support of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity. He noted that he values the close interaction between the two countries over the years, which has allowed them to work on serious projects capable of strengthening the entire region.

It is worth recalling that Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Turkey for a working visit. The meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine and Turkey took place at the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul, where issues related not only to security but also to economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
