Ukraine's National Wrestling Team Announces Roster for 2026 European Championship
The Ukrainian national wrestling team has revealed its roster for the upcoming 2026 European Championship, set to take place in the Albanian capital until April 26. Ukrainian wrestlers are determined to showcase their high level of preparation and compete for medals across various categories.
The Ukrainian national wrestling team has officially announced the lineup that will represent the country at the 2026 European Championship. This prestigious tournament will be held in Tirana, Albania, and will continue until April 26. The Ukrainian wrestlers are poised to display their exceptional training and aim to compete for medals in multiple weight categories.
The team will consist of 30 athletes who will compete in three different disciplines: freestyle wrestling (both men and women) and Greco-Roman wrestling. In the men's freestyle category, Ukraine will be represented by the following wrestlers: Roman Hutsulyak in the 57 kg weight class, Kamil Kerimov (61 kg), Mykyta Honcharov (65 kg), Oleksiy Boruta (70 kg), Ihor Nykyforuk (74 kg), Vasyl Mykhailov (79 kg), Oleksandr Mamrosh (86 kg), Mukhammed Aliyev (92 kg), Denys Sahaliuk (97 kg), and Volodymyr Kochanov in the 125 kg category.
Among the women competing in freestyle wrestling for Ukraine are: Oksana Liavach (50 kg), Maria Yefremova (53 kg), Liliya Malanchuk (55 kg), Solomiya Vynnyk (57 kg), Maria Vynnyk (59 kg), Ilona Prokopevnyuk (62 kg), Iryna Kolyadenko (65 kg), Manola Skobelska (68 kg), Nadiya Sokolovska (72 kg), and Anastasia Alpeyeva (76 kg).
In the Greco-Roman wrestling category, the following athletes will compete for Ukraine: Ivan Stefanovskyi (55 kg), Vladyslav Kuzko (60 kg), Maksym Liu (63 kg), Oleksandr Hushyn (67 kg), Dmytro Vasyliev (72 kg), Irfan Mirzoiev (77 kg), Ruslan Abdiiev (82 kg), Yaroslav Filchakov (87 kg), Vladlen Kozliuk (97 kg), and Mykhailo Vyshnyvetskyi in the 130 kg weight class.
This European Championship promises to be highly competitive, as Ukrainian wrestlers have a wealth of experience and success on the international stage. It is worth noting that last year's European Championship, which took place in Bratislava, Slovakia, saw the Ukrainian team achieve remarkable results, securing four gold and five bronze medals, which allowed them to finish second in the overall medal standings.
