The Invitation for U.S. Special Representatives to Kyiv Remains in Effect

The invitation for special representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Kyiv remains in effect, and currently, Ukrainian and American teams are actively working on improving the document regarding security guarantees. This information was disclosed during a briefing that took place on April 8, where Georgiy Tikhiy, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, shared the latest updates.

Georgiy Tikhiy emphasized that the Ukrainian side is indeed inviting American guests and will be pleased to welcome them when the opportunity arises. 'As for the American guests, we are indeed inviting them; this is still in effect, and we will be glad to welcome them when there is readiness,' the Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed.

Commenting on the work being done on the security guarantees document, Tikhiy noted that 'certain new opportunities have emerged to strengthen this document, particularly in light of developments in the Middle East and the role that Ukraine has demonstrated there.' These remarks indicate that the Ukrainian side sees potential for reinforcing its positions in international politics.

According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, key figures in Ukrainian politics are involved in improving the document, including the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov, and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Serhiy Kyslytsia. This involvement reflects the serious approach of the Ukrainian authorities towards security and international relations.

Earlier, Kyrylo Budanov mentioned in an interview with Bloomberg that in April, Ukraine expects the arrival of an American delegation led by U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. According to Budanov, the visit may take place shortly after Orthodox Easter, which is celebrated on April 12 this year. This underscores the importance and urgency of discussing security issues between Ukraine and the United States.

On April 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky participated in negotiations with U.S. representatives that were conducted via video format. The Ukrainian side was also represented by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, while the American delegation included Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. These negotiations marked another step in strengthening the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States and highlighted the importance of cooperation in the security sector.
