Capture of GRU Officer: Intelligence Reveals Raid Deep Behind Enemy Lines via Kakhovka Reservoir
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (HUR) has unveiled details of a perilous operation that took place behind enemy lines, resulting in the capture of a Russian officer. This mission, documented in a video report by the YouTube project Ukrainian Witness, tested the mettle of Ukrainian fighters who managed to return with the captured officer despite numerous challenges.
The operation commenced with a prayer before departure, a significant ritual for the soldiers who understood the arduous journey ahead, which involved traversing kilometers of swamps, reeds, and dense underbrush. Scouts described the conditions of movement as extremely challenging, with constant surveillance from Russian drones monitoring their every step. According to participants, the distance of fire contact at times shrank to as little as two meters, creating additional life-threatening risks.
The chief of staff of the 'Brotherhood' unit, known by the alias 'Division', shared his impressions of the conditions they had to operate in: 'You are constantly brushing against these thickets with no way to orient yourself in which direction to go. You can really only see two meters in front of you.' These words vividly illustrate how dangerous and unpredictable this raid was.
One of the most difficult moments of the operation was the capture of the Russian officer, who sustained an open fracture. The 'Brotherhood' fighters extracted him under enemy fire, adding tension to an already perilous situation. As recounted by one of the soldiers, 'We had to carry him 900 meters to our positions. The enemies began to 'work' on him. We understood that we all had to get out together - his life was already our responsibility.' This highlights the high level of coordination and teamwork among the Ukrainian military, who risked their lives to save the captive.
The video also discusses the cooperation with the 128th Brigade, which played a crucial role in thwarting the Russian advance on Zaporizhzhia. This new reality of war, where drones have changed all the rules of engagement, has become another factor complicating the situation on the front lines. In today's technological environment, conducting combat operations has become even more dynamic and unpredictable.
Additionally, as reported by Ukrinform, scouts discovered among the eliminated Russian invaders in the Donetsk region the body of a citizen of Nepal who had fought on the side of the Russian Federation. This fact underscores the international aspect of the conflict and the involvement of foreigners in combat on the aggressor's side.
Thus, the operation conducted by Ukrainian intelligence not only showcased their courage and professionalism but also represented a significant step in the fight against Russian aggression. In the face of constant threats and risks, Ukrainian soldiers continue to carry out their missions, protecting the country and its citizens.
