73 Buildings Damaged in Odesa Due to Russian Attack, Including 14 High-Rise Structures
Odesa was once again targeted by Russian airstrikes on Monday night, resulting in significant destruction in the Kyiv district of the city. According to Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, a total of 73 residential buildings were affected, including 14 high-rise buildings and 59 private homes.
In a devastating escalation of hostilities, Odesa became a focal point of Russian aerial attacks during the night leading into Monday. These assaults have led to extensive damage in the Kyiv district, as reported by Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Odesa City Military Administration. The attacks resulted in damage to 73 residential structures, comprising 14 high-rise buildings and 59 private residences.
Lysak shared this alarming information via his Telegram channel on Tuesday, indicating that emergency response teams have already managed to secure 713 windows that were shattered due to the blasts. Additionally, 20 damage reports have been filed, and a significant amount of debris—130 cubic meters—has been cleared from the affected areas. These figures starkly illustrate the scale of destruction wrought by the recent attacks.
According to the administration head, one of the high-rise buildings sustained the most severe damage, and efforts are currently underway to dismantle the compromised structures and clear the rubble. Concurrently, work is being conducted in the private sector, where substantial damage has also been reported.
It is noteworthy that just on Monday, Lysak had reported 66 damaged residential buildings, including the same 14 high-rise structures and 52 private homes. Furthermore, visual assessments indicated that six buildings were completely destroyed, one of which was a high-rise. These numbers reflect a troubling trend of escalating destruction attributed to Russia's aggression.
Tragically, the shelling has resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including one child. Additionally, 17 others have sustained injuries of varying severity. It is crucial to highlight that emergency responders successfully rescued seven people, including another child. This heartbreaking incident underscores the horrific impact of the war on civilians, who continue to suffer from violence and destruction.
The situation in Odesa remains tense, with local authorities actively taking measures to address the aftermath of the attacks.
