Consumers Left Without Power in Seven Regions Due to Attacks, Energy Consumption Declines with Sunrise – "Ukrenergo"
Ukrainian energy facilities have come under massive attacks, leaving consumers in seven regions without power, according to the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo."
Over the past day and into the current one, Ukrainian energy facilities have been targeted by mass attacks from enemy forces. This alarming situation was reported by the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" on Thursday, emphasizing the seriousness of the crisis in the country's energy sector.
As of this morning, consumers in seven regions remain without electricity: Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, and Odesa. These figures indicate that the attacks have significantly impacted the energy infrastructure, damaging equipment and leading to widespread power outages.
Currently, emergency restoration work is ongoing in all regions where security conditions permit. Energy workers are diligently working to restore power supply for consumers who have been left without electricity due to these attacks.
According to the system operator, electricity consumption in Ukraine is showing a downward trend. As of April 2, at 9:30 AM, the consumption level was 3.5% lower compared to the same time the previous day, as recorded on Wednesday.
The reasons for this decline are attributed to clear weather being observed in most regions of Ukraine. This, in turn, contributes to the high efficiency of household solar power plants, which reduces the load on the overall electrical grid. "Ukrenergo" notes that clear weather allows consumers to receive more energy from alternative sources, particularly from solar power plants.
In light of this, "Ukrenergo" recommends that consumers shift energy-intensive processes to the hours when solar power plants are most productive. This window of time falls between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, when solar activity peaks.
Additionally, energy workers have urged consumers to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances during the evening hours, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and to avoid turning on multiple such devices simultaneously. These measures will help reduce the load on the electrical grid, especially under conditions where the energy infrastructure is facing serious challenges due to external attacks.
Thus, the situation in Ukraine's energy sector remains tense, but energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power supply and maintain the stability of the energy system. Consumers are advised to pay attention to recommendations and consider weather conditions to help alleviate the load on the grid.
