Russian Forces Shell Nikopol in Morning Attacks, Damaging Homes and a Kindergarten

On the morning of October 23, Nikopol, a city in the Dnipropetrovsk region, once again became a target for shelling by Russian forces, according to local authorities.

On October 23, in the morning, Nikopol, a city located in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, was subjected to renewed shelling from Russian military forces. This information was confirmed by the mayor of Nikopol, Oleksandr Saiuk, via his Telegram channel, as reported by the news agency Ukrinform.

Mayor Oleksandr Saiuk stated, "It is again a difficult day for the city: shelling by kamikaze drones has been ongoing since the morning." As a result of these attacks, a multi-apartment residential building, two passenger cars, a fire station, and a kindergarten were damaged. The mayor also added that the shelling caused a fire that required urgent intervention from emergency services.

According to updated information, in addition to the previously mentioned multi-apartment building, another multi-apartment building and four private residential houses were also damaged due to the morning shelling. Furthermore, one outbuilding and four auxiliary structures, a gas pipeline, a store, and a kindergarten were affected. These details highlight the extensive destruction inflicted by Russian forces during their attacks on civilian targets.

Unfortunately, the consequences of these shellings have proven to be tragic. As reported earlier, one person was killed, and another sustained serious injuries as a result of the drone attack. These facts underscore the peril faced by residents of Nikopol and other cities situated in conflict zones.

The shelling of Nikopol occurs against the backdrop of an escalation of military actions in Ukraine, which has been ongoing for over a year and a half. The city, located on the right bank of the Dnipro River, has repeatedly fallen victim to attacks that have caused significant damage to infrastructure and residential areas. Local residents are forced to live under the constant threat posed by the aggression of the Russian Federation.

In light of these events, the mayor of Nikopol urged residents to exercise caution and adhere to safety measures. He also noted that local authorities are doing everything possible to mitigate the aftermath of the shelling and provide assistance to those affected. Oleksandr Saiuk emphasized the importance of support from the state and international partners in this challenging situation.

Photographs from the scene, published on Oleksandr Saiuk's Telegram, illustrate the scale of the destruction and confirm the seriousness of the situation in Nikopol. Local residents continue to hope for a swift end to the conflict and the restoration of peace in their region.

It is worth recalling that the situation in Nikopol and other cities in Ukraine remains tense, with ongoing shelling by Russian forces continuing to inflict harm on the civilian population. The international community is alarmed by these events and is calling for an immediate ceasefire and the resumption of peace negotiations.
