Starting Today, Ukrainians to Receive 'National Cashback' Payments for February

The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy has announced the commencement of payments under the 'National Cashback' program for February 2023, benefiting over 4.46 million users who meet the program's criteria.

According to information provided by Ukrinform, the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine has announced the start of payments under the 'National Cashback' program for February 2023. This initiative, designed to support Ukrainian consumers, will allow over 4.46 million users who have met the program's requirements—specifically, accumulating more than two hryvnias and selecting National Cashback cards for payments through the popular Diia application—to receive cashback.

The ministry's announcement indicated that alongside the February payments, some users will also receive cashback for January. This month required additional processing in collaboration with banks, which delayed the payments. Therefore, Ukrainians participating in the program will be able to receive compensation for two months.

Regarding the February payment, cashback will be calculated at a fixed rate of 10%. However, starting from March 1, 2023, the program will transition to a new differentiated model that includes two levels of cashback. Specifically, a 15% cashback will be granted on products made in Ukraine that fall into categories with a high share of imports. This includes items such as cosmetics, household chemicals, clothing, footwear, and household goods.

At the second level, a 5% cashback will be awarded on products where Ukrainian manufacturers already hold strong positions. These products include sweets, non-alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy products, and others. This innovation aims to support domestic producers and stimulate the consumption of Ukrainian goods.

Furthermore, starting from March 20, 2023, the 'National Cashback' program will introduce cashback on fuel. Ukrainians will be able to receive compensation for diesel fuel at a rate of 15%, gasoline at 10%, and autogas at 5%. These payments will be available at gas stations participating in the program.

It is noteworthy that nearly 190 gas station networks have already joined the program. To date, over 1.3 million Ukrainians have utilized the fuel cashback, indicating the popularity of this initiative among the population.

According to forecasts from the Ministry of Economy, approximately 3 million people will participate in the fuel price reimbursement program. This suggests that the 'National Cashback' program continues to evolve and gain momentum, providing Ukrainians with the opportunity to save on everyday expenses.
