This alarming update was shared on Friday, October 13, by Vitaliy Bunechko, the head of the regional military administration (OVA), via his Telegram channel.
Bunechko expressed relief that the death toll has remained unchanged, with one seventy-year-old woman confirmed deceased. However, the five residents of the region who sustained injuries and trauma due to the enemy attack highlight the ongoing dangers faced by local communities. Rescue operations at the site of the incident are continuing, with local authorities doing everything possible to assist the victims.
According to updated information, the enemy airstrike, which occurred in the northern part of Zhytomyr, resulted in the destruction of 18 buildings. Local authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and adhere to safety protocols, especially during air raid alerts.
In response to these events, the regional administration is actively working on the restoration of damaged buildings and providing assistance to those affected. Vitaliy Bunechko emphasized the importance of support from the state and society during this challenging time, as many people have been left homeless and are in urgent need of help.
The situation in the region remains tense, and local residents are hoping for a swift end to the conflict and a return to peaceful living. However, the threat persists, and each day brings new challenges for the inhabitants of Zhytomyr.
