This event marks an important step in cultural cooperation and opens the door to new artistic initiatives.

On April 3, 2023, a significant event for Ukrainian culture unfolded as the 'Cultural Forces' platform, which brings together military and civilian artists, donated a series of paintings to the Kyiv Museum of History. This donation is not merely an act of generosity; it represents a pivotal moment in the development of cultural cooperation, as both parties signed a memorandum that paves the way for new initiatives in the arts. The meeting took place during the artistic event titled 'I Shook This World,' dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the renowned Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk.

The event, held within the walls of the Kyiv Museum, featured remarks from Nazarij Yatskiv, the head of the 'Cultural Forces of Ukraine' soloists ensemble, who emphasized the significance of this occasion: 'This event is very symbolic because it is an exhibition of Marchuk. He is an artist and a person who is emblematic of our time. Through his explorations, we can attempt to look into ourselves today.'

The 'Cultural Forces' soloists ensemble is a unique phenomenon in Ukrainian culture, established in June 2025. It comprises professional musicians, including opera singers, choir conductors, and symphonic orchestra conductors. All members were involved in the arts before the onset of the large-scale war, and today, they have taken up arms to defend Ukraine on various fronts.

Today, 'Cultural Forces' has emerged as a crucial platform that bridges the military and civilian worlds, actively influencing the social life of the country. The collaboration between military artists and the Kyiv Museum has a long-standing history. Military serviceman and artist Serhiy Grekh recalled their joint project '24.02.2022,' which marked a significant milestone in their partnership. This exhibition featured six authors and was dedicated to the premonition of the full-scale invasion.

'These were works not about war, but rather about the feelings of that moment before the full-scale invasion. Each artist reflected on this theme in their own style,' said Serhiy Grekh, emphasizing the emotional context in which these works were created.

The memorandum signed between the Kyiv Museum of History and 'Cultural Forces' officially solidified this partnership, opening new opportunities for joint projects. Ahead lie new formats for engaging with audiences and initiatives that will continue to document our history through art. These projects will be crucial not only for cultural development but also for shaping national identity in the context of war.

The event was part of the exhibition 'I Shook This World,' dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Ivan Marchuk. Ivan Marchuk is one of the most famous contemporary Ukrainian artists, whose works have been exhibited multiple times in Ukraine and abroad. Exhibition projects dedicated to his creativity regularly rank among the notable cultural events in the capital, underscoring his significance to Ukrainian art.
