Truck Collides with Train in Kharkiv Region, Reports Ukrzaliznytsia

On Thursday, a serious traffic accident occurred near the Kolomak station in the Kharkiv region, where a freight truck collided with a passenger train, according to a report from Ukrzaliznytsia via its official Telegram channel.

According to the statement, the train driver was able to quickly apply emergency braking just before the collision, which helped to mitigate the impact. Preliminary reports indicate that there were no injuries among the passengers. However, the truck driver sustained injuries and is currently receiving necessary medical assistance.

The collision resulted in damage to the locomotive and at least one of the train's cars. This incident caused delays for trains heading towards Kharkiv. Ukrzaliznytsia warned that services in the Kharkiv direction would have to follow detour routes, which will undoubtedly affect the schedule of train movements.

The company also announced that it is preparing reserve cars for passengers of train No. 21/22, which is heading towards Lviv. This decision was made to ensure comfortable transportation for passengers who may experience inconveniences due to the delays.

This event has raised concerns among the public, as safety on railways and roads is extremely important. Ukrzaliznytsia urged all road users to adhere to safety rules and remain vigilant, especially in areas where railway tracks are present.
