Ukrenergo Reports Most Challenging Electricity Situation Following Night Attacks
The National Energy Company 'Ukrenergo' has announced that the electricity supply situation in Ukraine remains critical due to enemy attacks on energy infrastructure. These assaults, which included missile and drone strikes, have caused significant power outages across several regions.
The National Energy Company 'Ukrenergo' reported on its Facebook page that as a result of night-time attacks by enemy forces on energy infrastructure, the electricity supply situation in Ukraine remains complicated. According to the company, missile and drone attacks continued both on the previous day and the current day, leading to substantial power outages.
As of Monday morning, areas in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Kherson regions remained without electricity. However, the most severe situation is observed in the Chernihiv region, where damage to several energy facilities has resulted in the highest number of consumers being left without power. This indicates the serious consequences of the attacks that occurred overnight.
Energy workers from 'Ukrenergo' have already begun restoration efforts in regions where it is possible, taking into account security conditions. The company is actively working on restoring infrastructure to return electricity to consumers as quickly as possible.
As of 9:30 AM on Monday, electricity consumption in Ukraine exceeded the level of the previous working day by 3.3%. This increase is attributed to overcast weather in some areas, as well as the traditional rise in electricity consumption at the start of the workweek. Ukrenergo urges consumers to consider weather conditions and recommends postponing the use of high-power electrical appliances to the period of most effective operation of solar power plants, specifically from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Furthermore, in the Chernihiv region, as a result of Russian strikes, most districts, as well as the city of Slavutych, which administratively belongs to the Kyiv region, have been left without power. This further underscores the seriousness of the electricity supply situation in Ukraine, which has arisen as a consequence of aggression from enemy forces.
In light of these events, 'Ukrenergo' calls on all consumers to adhere to energy-saving recommendations and to stay updated on the restoration of electricity supply. The company also urges citizens to remain safe and to follow all necessary precautions during potential attacks.
