Sales of New Trucks Rise in Ukraine - Ukravtoprom

In March 2023, the Ukrainian market for new commercial vehicles, which encompasses both trucks and specialized vehicles, exhibited a notable increase in sales. According to the Ukrainian Automobile Manufacturers Association (Ukravtoprom), a total of 1,085 new vehicles were sold during the past month, marking a 23% rise compared to February 2023. This increase indicates a growing interest in new commercial vehicles from Ukrainian enterprises and businesses.

Furthermore, when compared to March of the previous year, the demand for new commercial vehicles has surged by 6%. This trend suggests a gradual recovery of the market following the challenging economic conditions brought about by the pandemic and ongoing military actions in Ukraine. Overall, since the beginning of 2023, the Ukrainian fleet of trucks and specialized vehicles has expanded by 2,911 new units, which is a 3% increase compared to the same period last year.

Among the leading brands in the commercial transport segment for March 2023, several stood out. Renault topped the sales chart with 179 units sold. Volkswagen followed in second place with 112 vehicles sold, while Citroen, Fiat, and Opel sold 93, 87, and 78 units, respectively. These figures suggest that consumers are favoring established brands that offer quality and reliable vehicles for commercial use.

Interestingly, Ukraine is also witnessing a rise in sales of new passenger cars. According to previous reports, 15,400 new passenger vehicles were sold during the first quarter of 2023, which is an 8% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth reflects a restoration of consumer confidence in the automotive market and positive changes in the country's economic situation.

Thus, the increase in sales of new trucks and passenger cars in Ukraine could signify a recovery in the automotive transport market, which, in turn, may have a beneficial impact on the overall economy of the country.
