Russian Robotic Complex 'Chalnok' Detected in Kharkiv Direction
Ukrainian military forces have reported the first sighting of the Russian all-terrain robotic complex known as 'Chalnok' in the Kharkiv region. This information was disclosed on Thursday, April 9, by representatives of the 11th Army Corps.

The dimensions of the Chalnok are impressive, measuring 3.8 meters in length, 2.5 meters in width, and 3.4 meters in height, with a weight of 1350 kilograms without any payload. These characteristics make the Chalnok quite conspicuous on the battlefield, which could potentially become a significant disadvantage in tactical applications.
Importantly, the complex is capable of moving at speeds of up to 50 km/h on land and up to 5 km/h in water. This versatility allows it to effectively carry out missions in various conditions; however, its substantial size may complicate efforts for camouflage. Representatives from the 11th Army Corps noted that the Chalnok is easily noticeable and its dimensions are comparable to that of a passenger car, making it difficult to maneuver discreetly through terrain folds or wooded areas.
The news of the Chalnok's presence is particularly relevant against the backdrop of evolving tactics employed by Russian forces. On March 4, Ukrainian Defense Ministry advisor Serhiy Beskrestnov, known by the pseudonym 'Flash', stated that Russian troops have begun using kamikaze drones, known as 'Shaheds', to conduct attacks along the front line extending up to 20 kilometers deep. This shift indicates an evolution in the tactics being utilized on the front and underscores the importance of advanced technologies in contemporary warfare.
Thus, the emergence of the Chalnok in the Kharkiv direction may signify an increase in the technological component of combat operations, as well as an adaptation of Russian forces to new conditions of warfare.
