Over 600 Attacks on Territorial Recruitment Center Workers Recorded in Ukraine, Three Soldiers Dead – National Police

Since the declaration of martial law in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the National Police has reported over 600 attacks on workers of Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRC) and Social Support. Tragically, these incidents have resulted in the deaths of three TRC personnel.

In Ukraine, since the introduction of martial law that began on February 24, 2022, the National Police has documented more than 600 cases of attacks on employees of the Territorial Recruitment Centers and Social Support (TRC and SP). This alarming information was provided to the Interfax-Ukraine agency by representatives of the National Police, who noted that as a result of these attacks, three military personnel from the TRC and SP have lost their lives.

According to the data from the National Police, as of April 5, 2026, law enforcement has recorded 611 instances of resistance or attacks on TRC and SP employees while they were performing their official duties. These figures highlight the serious threats faced by representatives of these institutions as they carry out their functions amidst ongoing warfare.

The highest number of attacks on TRC employees was recorded in the Kharkiv region, where 68 incidents occurred. In Kyiv, 53 attacks were reported, while the Dnipropetrovsk region saw 44 incidents. Additionally, similar cases were noted in the Volyn region (38), Lviv (37), Odesa (36), and Chernihiv (33). This indicates that the issue of attacks on TRC employees is widespread across many regions of Ukraine.

The trends regarding attacks on TRC personnel are concerning. The National Police reported that in 2022, only 5 such incidents were recorded, but this number rose to 38 in 2023. In 2024, 118 attacks were documented, and in 2025, the number surged to 341. Since the beginning of 2026, more than a hundred cases of resistance against TRC personnel have already been recorded, indicating a rapid increase in aggression against representatives of these institutions.

In light of these events, there have been three significant attacks on TRC employees in Ukraine within the past week alone. Specifically, on April 2 in Lviv, an attack occurred in which a 52-year-old TRC and SP soldier sustained a knife wound to the neck and subsequently died. The assailant, who fled the scene, was apprehended a few hours later. He was identified as an employee of the Lviv customs office, who has since been charged and taken into custody.

Another attack took place on April 4 in Vinnytsia, where a man armed with a knife assaulted TRC and SP personnel, injuring two soldiers, one of whom was hospitalized in intensive care. It is known that the attacker is a civilian who has been evading military registration since 2025, and he has been arrested by the police.

On April 6 in Kharkiv, there was also an attack on TRC military personnel during a notification event for military conscripts. The assailant, armed with a knife, injured one of the soldiers, who was subsequently hospitalized. As in previous incidents, the attacker was apprehended.

These events underscore the serious risks faced by TRC and SP employees in Ukraine and highlight the urgent need for additional security measures to protect their lives and health while they carry out their official duties in the challenging conditions of war.
