Seventeen Russian Bombs Recorded Falling in Ukraine in 2026
In a troubling development, a Russian Telegram channel has reported that 17 instances of Russian aerial bombs falling have been documented in 2026, both in Russia and in occupied territories of Ukraine.
Throughout 2026, 17 incidents of Russian aerial bombs falling have been recorded on the territory of Russia and in the areas of Ukraine occupied by Russian forces. This information was disclosed by the Russian Telegram channel Astra, which based its report on data obtained from its sources.
The first incident occurred on March 7, 2026, when a FAB-500 aerial bomb "unexpectedly descended" in the vicinity of the Strel'nikov farm in the Yakovlevsky district of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. This alarming trend indicates that by the beginning of the year, there had already been at least 17 cases of Russian aerial bombs falling, raising serious concerns, as noted in the publication.
In 2025, at least 143 cases of aerial bombs falling were recorded, while in 2024, this figure was 165. This reflects a continuous increase in the safety issues concerning Russian territory and the occupied areas of Ukraine. Astra reports that Russian authorities are attempting to conceal these facts, and when civilians are among the victims, they blame the Armed Forces of Ukraine for these incidents.
Journalists also highlighted that in January 2026, a channel close to the Russian Aerospace Forces, known as Fighterbomber, acknowledged that Russian aerial bombs regularly fall within Belgorod. This suggests a systemic issue that appears to elicit no response from the authorities.
Moreover, on December 6, 2025, the Telegram channel Pepel Belgorod reported an accidental drop of an aerial bomb by Russian aviation on Belgorod, which resulted in a power outage in the city and its surroundings. This incident underscores the danger faced by the population living in close proximity to military facilities.
On January 21, 2026, a "crater from munitions" was discovered on Gubkina Street in Belgorod. Although the authorities have not specified the type of munitions, local residents on social media claim that it is likely an aerial bomb of Russian manufacture. These incidents are causing alarm among the population, as they indicate the perilous situation in which people find themselves due to military actions.
Thus, the falling of Russian aerial bombs on Russian territory and in occupied Ukrainian lands is a serious issue that requires urgent attention from the authorities. However, as practice shows, official bodies tend to suppress these facts, which only exacerbates the situation and endangers the lives of civilians.
